About Us

Stephanie Chandler launched The Business Growth Connection in 2008 with several goals in mind:

1.       To provide valuable how-to resources for business owners who want to take a DIY approach (do it yourself) or who simply want to achieve business growth.

2.       To bridge together services provided by her other companies: Pro Publishing Services and BusinessInfoGuide.com.

3.       To build a community where business owners can grow, share and prosper. Business failure rates are simply too high. Stephanie Chandler is on a personal mission to change that.

Our Commitment and Staff

We leverage the most talented people that we can find in the Sacramento area. Because we are committed to providing the highest quality services possible, we pay premium rates for experienced writers, project managers and design specialists.

Letter from the Founder

Greetings,

My name is Stephanie Chandler and I am a cliché as writers go since I have been obsessed with the written word for as long as I can remember. I carried a notebook around as a kid and took extra English and writing classes as electives in school (I missed out on fun classes like art and home economics which probably explains why I'm a terrible cook!). I landed my first publication credit in the third grade and I was instantly hooked on the wonders of writing.

My work history could be a book in itself. I spent eleven years in the Silicon Valley, beginning with telephone technical support. That job was about as fun as getting a tooth extracted. Next, I worked as a technical instructor and course developer for a software company. That was my favorite job of all in corporate America! I got to travel all over the world teaching classes and developed numerous training manuals and presentations. It was fun and creative but the travel eventually wore me out and I decided to move on.

I spent my final four years in the Silicon Valley selling software. I had a $4 million quota and developed an ulcer before my 30th birthday. That's when I knew it was time for a complete lifestyle change...

Starting Over

In 2003, I kissed off corporate America and opened a bookstore in Sacramento, California. My plan was to turn it into a passive income business so I could focus on writing novels and articles for women’s magazines (it seemed like a good idea at the time). But in the process of abandoning my career, a surprising number of people said to me, "I wish I had the courage to do what you did." That's when I discovered a new passion: helping others realize that there could be life after corporate America.

In response, I launched BusinessInfoGuide.com, a directory of resources for entrepreneurs. In 2005, I released my first book: The Business Startup Checklist and Planning Guide: Seize Your Entrepreneurial Dreams! Foreword magazine selected it as a Book of the Year award winner, and I am truly grateful for the recognition.

My freelance writing efforts fell in line with my journey and I have since developed a reputation as a small business expert. Over the years I have written articles for dozens of print and online publications including Entrepreneur magazine, Home Business Magazine, and many more. Who knew that I would fall in love with all-things-small-business? I'm having a blast!

My second book, From Entrepreneur to Infopreneur: Make Money with Books, eBooks and Information Products (John Wiley & Sons) was released in December 2006. Thanks to the book, I often speak at business events and on the radio.

My third book, The Author's Guide to Building an Online Platform: Leveraging the Internet to Sell More Books (Quill Driver Press) was released in May 2008. I won't reveal the details yet, but I do have a fourth book in the works that I am very excited about!

The Evolution of an Entrepreneur

In 2007, I made the decision to sell my bookstore. With so many activities to focus on, I wasn’t able to give it my full attention. I’m happy to say that the store lives on as a neighborhood favorite in Sacramento.

Today I am able to focus on growing my businesses while also building my career as an author. I am passionate about small business and marketing and count my blessings often because I get to wake up every day and perform work that feeds my soul!

I appreciate this opportunity to share my life with you (and especially the fact that you read this far down my profile!). If you want to do business with a company that works with integrity and is committed to providing exceptional customer service, please give us a call.

Wishing you abundant joy and success,

Stephanie
